Nov 17, 2019 vs. Lundar
The Selkirk Fishermen continued their winning ways last week.
Selkirk won all three of its games after a solid 5-0 shutout over the Lundar Falcons on Sunday.
Guy Rozin led the Fishermen with a goal and two assists while Matt Brooks, Carter Courchene, and Peyton Moneyas each scored once and had an assist.
Julius Guimond scored Selkirk’s other goal.
Brendan Hocaluk stopped 13 Lundar shots for the shutout.
Last Saturday, Selkirk slipped past the Ice Dawgs 2-1 in Arborg.
Courchene scored both Fishermen goals, including the game winner on the power play midway in the third period.
Arborg’s goal was tallied by Jake Plett in the second period.
Owen Derewianchuk stopped 31 shots for the win.
On Nov. 1, the Fishermen edged the North Winnipeg Satelites 3-2 at the Billy Mosienko Arena.
Rozin scored the game winner on a penalty shot with just nine seconds remaining in the third period.
Selkirk’s Jordan Donald tallied a first-period goal on the power play and then Kasen Andrusko made it 2-0 with a second-period marker.
But the Satelites came back in the third with goals from Damian Aikman and Elie Schart.
Hocaluk made 22 saves for the win.
Selkirk, now 7-0-1 and in first place with 22 points, will visit Arborg on Saturday and then host North Winnipeg Sunday. Puck drop for both games is 7:30 p.m.
