CRJHL Expands by 1 team for 2022-2023

Capital Region Junior Hockey League Adds New Franchise

Winnipeg, MB – The Capital Region Junior Hockey League (CRJHL) is set to expand, adding a new franchise for the 2022-23 season.

The new franchise will be based in Beausejour and will begin play this season.  Founding member clubs of the league include the Selkirk Fishermen, St. Malo Warriors, North Winnipeg Satelites, Arborg Ice Dawgs and the Lundar Falcons.

Terrance McLean, Director of Operations for the Beausejour franchise remarked, “We’re very excited to have this opportunity to join the CRJHL.  We’ve been interested for a few years, however with COVID-19, the timing just wasn’t there.  We are pleased to be able to bring a franchise to Beausejour.”

“The CRJHL is pleased to be in a position to expand to 6 teams for the 2022-23 season.”, stated President Cliff Malzensky.  “This is something we have been looking forward to for a few seasons now.”

The new Beausejour franchise has yet to choose a team name, but this will be coming in the near future.  They are also beginning their search for a General Manager and Head Coach and hope to have one in place soon.  For information about the new Beausejour franchise, please contact Terrance McLean at terrance21mclean@gmail.com .

The CRJHL is for players 16-21 years old, looking to play competitive, fast paced hockey.  The league has a schedule that allows players to attend school or work, while still competing at a high level of play.
