Derewianchuk shuts out Satelites

Owen Derewianchuk made 21 saves to backstop the Selkirk Fishermen to a 3-0 home victory over the North Winnipeg Satelites in Capital Region Junior Hockey League action on Saturday evening.

He now has an 11-1 record with a 1.66 goals-against average and .938 save percentage this season.

Jordan Donald gave Selkirk a 1-0 first-period lead and then Braeden Hummel tallied in the second.

Peyton Moneyas closed out the scoring in the third. Matt Brooks had two assists in the game.

On Friday, the Fishermen had their road game with the Arborg Ice Dawgs cancelled due to weather/roads.

Selkirk’s home game with the St. Malo Warriors was cancelled on Jan. 18 due to poor weather.

The Fishermen, in first place with 56 points, will host the Lundar Falcons on Saturday (7:30 p.m.) at the Recreation Complex.
