Tessier tallies three times in Fishermen OT win

Poor travel conditions and heavy snowfall forced the Selkirk Fishermen’s road game against the Lundar Falcons on Saturday to be postponed.

A makeup date had not been announced by press time.

Last Friday, the Fishermen defeated the Arborg Ice Dawgs 3-2 in overtime in Selkirk.

Reece Tessier was the star of the game, scoring three goals. He tied the score at 2-2 in the second period and then netted the game winner in OT.

Arborg’s Logan Clarke opened the game’s scoring with a power-play goal in the first period.

Tessier tied the score at 1-1 before the Ice Dawgs’ Dyson Pelletier potted a shorthanded goal late in the opening period.

Selkirk’s Travis Spratt finished the game with two points.

Owen Derewianchuk made 27 saves for the victory.

Selkirk was scheduled to play at the North Winnipeg Satelites this past Tuesday but no score was available.

The Fishermen, in first place with 47 points, will visit the St. Malo Warriors this Saturday for a 7 p.m. game.

Selkirk will then host St. Malo next Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
