Anyone can beat anyone in the Capital Region Junior Hockey League this season.
The St. Malo Warriors proved that on Friday.
St. Malo upset the first-place Selkirk Fishermen 2-1 despite getting badly outshot at the Recreation Complex.
Teagan Fillion scored a first-period goal for St. Malo and then Evan Wuerch made it 2-0 with a second-period marker.
The Fishermen’s Matt Brooks tallied in the third.
Selkirk outshot St. Malo 43-23 as Fishermen goalie Brendon Hocaluk took the loss.
On Dec. 7, Selkirk blasted the North Winnipeg Satelites 8-1 at the Billy Mosienko Arena.
Ben Kelly led Selkirk with two goals while Kasen Andrushko, Marcus King, Jordan Donald and Braeden Hummel each had a goal and an assist.
The other Fishermen goals were scored by Josh Poponick and Brooks. Reece Tessier had three assists while Braeden Wyryha added two helpers.
Aden Asham scored a second-period goal for North Winnipeg.
Selkirk outshot North Winnipeg by a whopping 74-32 margin as Owen Derewianchuk earned the win in goal.
Selkirk will host North Winnipeg on Saturday (7:30 p.m.) and then travel to St. Malo to play the Warriors on Sunday (2 p.m.).
