Fishermen put the freeze on the Ice Dawgs

Sunday’s matchup between the Selkirk Fishermen and the Arborg Ice Dawgs was a battle between the Capital Region Junior Hockey League’s top two teams.

And Selkirk left Arborg with bragging rights after a 6-4 victory.

Travis Spratt had a tremendous game for Selkirk with three goals while Raymond Hefferman, Kyle Folhoffer, and Nolan Milgaard also tallied.

Spratt leads the league in goals (eight) and is second in points (nine).

Kalen Guimond (two), Jack Einarson, and Austin Adair replied for Arborg.

Owen Derewianchuk made 46 saves for the victory.

Selkirk will host Arborg this Saturday at the Recreation Complex. Puck drop is 7:30 p.m. The Fishermen have 12 points while the Ice Dawgs have nine.

Selkirk will then visit the North Winnipeg Satelites next Tuesday.
