Suhr leads Fishermen over Lundar

Suhr leads Fishermen over Lundar

Record Staff

Selkirk Fishermen forward Dominic Suhr scored twice and added three assists to lead his club to a dominating 7-3 victory over the Lundar Falcons in Capital Region Junior Hockey League action on Sunday at the Recreation Complex.

Zach Parkinson, Kasen Andrushko, Matt Wagner, Travis Spratt, and Jordan Donald also scored for the Fishermen.

Kyle Folhoffer had four assists in the game.

Ryan Gleich, Riley Wirgau, and Daytona Moneas replied for Lundar.

Manny Minuk made 22 saves as Selkirk outshot Lundar 46-25.

In off-ice news, the Fishermen’s 5-1 victory over the St. Malo Warriors on Oct. 9 was taken away after Selkirk used an ineligible player. The Fishermen had not forwarded a player’s card into the league before the game, resulting in the default.

Selkirk now has nine points in four games, which ties them with the Arborg Ice Dawgs for first place in the five-team league. Arborg has played one less game, however.

The Fishermen will play the Ice Dawgs in a key matchup this Sunday (2 p.m.) in Arborg.
